Alleging that ever powerful bureaucrats will never facilitate democracy, Peoples Conference (PC) president Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday said protocol powers given to District Development Council (DDC) members was disappointing and humiliation.

He said problem is the new stakeholders (Bureaucrats) created by the Union Government post August 5, 2019 and they see anybody elected by people as a threat. This is simple analysis and no rocket science, said Sajad who was a minister in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and BJP  coalition government before the saffron party pulled out in June 2018. He was given berth from the quota of BJP.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter Sajad said, “DDC protocol powers disappointment - humiliation. Problem is the new stakeholder created by the union Govt post August 5- BUREAUCRAT Ever powerful. He/she will never facilitate democracy. will c anybody elected by people as a threat. This is simple analysis. And no rocket science.”

He was reacting to protests at winter capital, Jammu, by DDC members from all political parties against  the government  order about their honorarium and protocol.

Only yesterday Apni Party (AP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has alleged that bureaucrats don’t want to give the power back to the representatives of the people as they are used to unaccountability in Jammu and Kashmir.
